I've started writing again. I'm so scattered when it comes to writing my books. I've started so many and have only finished one. And the one I've finished I still need to go back a do some tweaking before I try and submit to a publisher. I'm not even too sure if anyone will publish my stories--guess in the end I don't care too much. I can always use an online publisher, not much money, but then again, I'm not doing it for money....but fame would be nice. XD
Oh, and the book I finished will be dedicated to a certain kitteh I know who encouraged me to finish it. Thank you so much!

I will never be as good as Michael Parkes, but I can keep trying.
I'm getting towards the end of my novel now; I'm hoping to start agent-hunting next summer. We'll see though, because with the economy like it is I've had to pick up a lot of extra hours at my day job, and finding time to write is harder...
If you're interested, I am doing Chapter swaps with people right now, where we trade one chapter at a time by email and give feedback. I'm also excited to see what other writers are doing - not to mention that feedback from other writers on my own work is always helpful! ^_~ Let me know if it's something you think you'd like to try; so far it's actually helped me quite a lot...

Best of luck with the agent hunting! Tell me how it goes, might need the pointers.
Chapter swapping? Definitely interested. The book is fantasy romance book (definitely pg-13), mostly about kelpies, or at least my take on them. What is your novel about?
Thanks very much!

Yeah, agent-hunting is a big milestone; unfortunately very few publishing houses accept unsolicited manuscripts anymore. -_- I'd definitely say the most useful thing I got out of my Master's Degree was a better understanding of the agent-finding and publishing process. We'll see if it does me any good when the time comes though.
Ah, excellent! As I said, a variety of feedback is good, and it's always nice to get a feel for what the peers in your field are doing. ^_^ Besides, I love kelpies! My novel is reasonably standard fantasy action fare, although I've tried to give it a fairly realistic feel. (It generally floats between the PG-13 and R mark, but nothing too gratuitous.) Heh, it's also a little plagued by my obsession with detail; I've had long enough with the concept to develop a pretty in-depth worldscape and every little bit of information keep trying to force its way in. ^_~
I like it though. If you want to swap Chapter 1, email me at blue_nephelim@yahoo.com with any prologue, background info, or questions you'd like me to keep in mind while reading, and just attach your first Chapter. I'll do the same thing in a reply email.
I look forward to hearing from you! ^_^
